Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Ltd has partnered with Italy's Tonino Lamborghini SpA to launch golf and lifestyle carts designed for global markets.
Kinetic Green holds a 70% stake in the Kinetic Green Tonino Lamborghini joint venture; the remaining 30% is owned by Tonino Lamborghini.
The JV aims to export 'Made in India' golf carts to key international markets over the next three years. “The golf cart business is not aimed at the Indian market. It is aimed at the global market. Globally, the golf cart market is $5 billion. Around 500,000 golf carts are sold every year. India accounts for around 3% with 1,500 golf carts,” said Sulajja Firodia Motwani , founder and CEO of Kinetic Green.
“We will sell in India, the UAE and parts of Asia in the first year. Europe, North America and rest of Asia in the next year. By the third year, we aim to cover 80% of the global markets,” Motwani added. “Over the next three years, we plan to enter into 25 top markets. Our aim is to reach a revenue milestone of $300 million by 2030,” said Motwani.
The Pune-based automaker has already started production at its plant and has commenced shipments to the UAE, Motwani confirmed.
The company has commenced manufacturing of the e-carts at its integrated facility near Pune and plans to utilize the Nhava Sheva port near Mumbai for exports. It has appointed distributors in India, across the UAE—including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Saudi Arabia—as well as the Maldives. The company also plans to finalise distribution partners in New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and key Asian markets including Thailand and Indonesia. Following these initial markets, Kinetic Green Tonino Lamborghini will expand operations to the rest of Asia, Europe, and the US.
Kinetic Green aims to build a $1 billion EV business by 2030, and this JV is expected to play a key role in the company’s global ambitions. “We are poised to create a disruption in this segment and work towards seizing leadership, globally, bringing a confident, and ambitious new benchmark to markets that are ripe for revolution,” Motwani said.
“For a long, the golf cart segment has awaited a true disruptor – an extraordinary offering that transcends the mundane. Over the years, the use of golf carts has extended well beyond golf – to luxury resorts, world-class airports, sprawling townships and corporate campuses and to personal use. But the design and specifications of popular golf carts has remained much the same, and this is where we see a large global market ready for disruption,” said the Kinetic Green founder and CEO.
There is growing demand for these carts in multiple applications beyond golf, driven by a preference for sustainable last-mile transportation. North America commands a 40.3% market share, while Europe’s sophistication and Asia-Pacific’s rapid growth present an unprecedented opportunity—across golf’s 60% market share and lifestyle’s expanding 40% share, the company noted.
“Our JV will leverage the long legacy of the Kinetic Group in automotive engineering, Kinetic Green’s pioneering expertise in design and manufacture of electric vehicles and the experience of our partner, Tonino Lamborghini’s global experience in redefining design and lifestyle experiences and to top it all, marketing our products globally using the famous red shield with the iconic Bull,” said Motwani.
Commenting on the occasion, Ferruccio Lamborghini, Vice President, Tonino Lamborghini SpA, said, "This collaboration with Kinetic Green marks an exciting new chapter in the history of the brand founded by my father over 45 years ago. Together, we have created a project that combines the best of two worlds: the elegance and identity of Italian design with the strength, efficiency, and innovation of Indian manufacturing. This is more than an industrial joint venture – it is a bridge between two entrepreneurial cultures, united by a shared vision of the future.”
“We chose India not only as a strategic production base, but also as a symbol of openness, growth, and global ambition,” Lamborghini said.
